Almost everyone has a 3rd TV so Telus is being greedy. We are still on the fence and it is just about the pricing. So we are struggling and I really wish some one at Telus would make us a deal we would like. As for Internet speed, how fast do you need? I have fibre and stream even 4K. Recently I was told by Telus, I could save some money and go back to 75 and I would be just fine with the 4K.
I have unlimited Internet, too. I had had no problem calling Telus twice last week, with what I would describe as no wait time. Just had to answer a few questions before talking to an agent. In response to Nighthawk. There is NO setting to change start and stop recording offsets, I've been on optic t. No setting, if you are seeing a magical setting tell us as so, with button presses. That helps no one. The reason as you stated is because not all channels start the show at the correct time. People would be more annoyed that a part of thier program is missing, than would if there's a minute or two extra.

After a week of using Optik TV, I would suggest the following improvements: When watching PVR programs, include a status bar at the bottom so when you're fast forwarding, you know how long is left in the show. I much prefer the rubber backlit buttons on the Shaw remotes vs the smooth buttons on the Telus Slimline remote. Telus slim remote control version 1 has the input button, find yourself one, the rest of us are fine without it, lol as for backlit remote , you do understand that service is what your paying for right?
The clock is in the osd, there is a playback bar that tells you how far along your recording and rewound show is. At my other place I have Shaw. Thier service quality is garbage. They default to sd channels, and thier HD ones are chaotic. Also many of thier lower cost boxes also don't have a clock. They're still on a old old bulky remote control style. They've no way of watching tv via thier own app , it's clunky.
Old tech this is "true carrier class iptv", massive difference mate. Your complaining about nonsense, until Shaw ditches thier ancient cabling system and thier "all flash no gas " boxes, for full fibre optic closed loop pure ip system.
As some of thier cable company cousins have done in the U. All that said Rogers in Toronto is the absolute worst tv provider, for the sake of variety and a massive number of channels they envy the US satellite companies they've overcompressed so many channels to the point of looking worse than SD. Unless you wanna talk about the ridiculous amounts both companies change for thier services. Also Telus TV v1 sucked so bad pre that they ditched the entire setup, and started a new system and had bell satellite that they sold as Telus satellite at the same time.
Will or can Shaw cable do that? She had to pay. It matters. I am in the midst of a Telus run around. Channels we had been paying for for years suddenly removed. So many negative stories from so many people for both Shaw and Telus. I get so frustrated when I call customer service not naming specific companies, just in general and the call centre is in another country and you cannot understand half of what they are saying. They are not alone; customer service has declined drastically in general across the board.
Try to get through to Westjet! I finally cancelled it online and they only gave me a credit. Finally 3 weeks later I got through. Shaw used to be so good and westjet was the best of the best.
