If this is your first fighting game it would work to your advantage to learn the "language" of combos. Such as "2H" which means down heavy. A good way to know what the number next to the letter means is to look at a numpad as a compass, left being 4, right being 6, down meaning 2 and you'd have to hold down the "crouch" button with the attack, etc.

BnB combos work for every character except those that cannot 2H mid-air. They might have some synergy where you may use assists to lengthen combos which do more damage.
