I have it checked out 1 or more each year, oil, blade, filter, etc. Love it. Had one with a Kohler engine. This was the worst Craftsman I ever owned. Refused to replace the engine when it seized up. I am a senior so this is the only way to mow for me, I love my Craftsman riding mower. It cuts so well. Have owned it for 3 years. Easy maintenance, just replaced the blades and it's like new. I moved to Florida from Colorado, lived in the mountains, no lawn to mow there, but here in Palm Coast we take pride in our yards.
I have bought Craftsman products all my adult life and they never let me down. I highly recommend this riding mower. A lot of people have lawn service but I do all my own lawn service so I figure I have saved a lot of money over the years by getting this rider. This mower has been a reliable product and does a sufficient job on uneven ground. This is an older model and I do not know if it is still made and I do not know where to buy a Craftsman product since Sears has closed in our area.
Cut the grass edges and yards Perfect! Performance is great and cutting is very important for yard workers to complete their work in a timely manner so that the Customers can be very happy and satisfied.
Parents were excited to buy a brand new lawn mower less than a year ago not even 10 hours on a dollar rider mower. The carburetor malfunctioned. Filled the whole engine with gas so oil was changed immediately. Took plugs out because of the hydrolock on cylinders put back together.. First bump the lawnmower lit on fire then immediately exploded mower and lit me on fire as well..
Was told Lowes extended warranty would help replace the faulty mower. Then later almost 3 weeks of red tape of them not even knowledge of where it was.. A little upset. My parents are old, retired and don't have a ton to spend. And I have permanent scars both arms from a trusted company I will be buying from another maker period. And yes I will be pursuing this.. Best mower I ever bought. You might not yet find this unit among the best Craftsman zero turn mowers reviews but it will surely get in one of them soon enough.

Mowers will typically have one, two, or four levers to control the deck height. Single-lever adjustment is the easiest to use, but it requires more linkage, which adds weight and complexity.

More expensive mowers come with a more durable bag with more dust-blocking capability. If you bag a lot, especially leaves or other lawn debris in the fall, then you need a mower with a higher quality dust-blocking bag.

Wide-cut mowers built for homeowner use have either a single blade or, more typically, a pair of blades, cutting from 26 to 30 inches with each pass. Some of these are rated for light commercial use and have larger decks, in the inch range, and engines that start at cc and go up to about cc.
Wide-cut mowers employ gear or hydrostatic drive transmissions, and they have top speeds of about four to six miles per hour. At their fastest, they move so quickly you have to trot to keep up with them.
We put all of the mowers we test through the paces using our standard Popular Mechanics methodology: We cut turf grasses such as fescues and blue grass and rougher non-turf grasses like Timothy, clover, orchard grass, and wild oats, all in both normal and shin-deep heights. We mow uphill, downhill, and across the faces of hills.
The maximum slope we cut is about 35 degrees. We mow damp and wet grass to test general cutting performance and whether clippings accumulate on the tires. And we cut dry and dusty surfaces to see how well the bag filters under less-than-optimal conditions. After all that mowing and analysis, we give each a rating from our star system. The comes with a blade on it and a spare one for mulching in the box. Both are thick and well-ground, reflecting the attention to detail that one would expect for a mower rated as contractor-duty.
